Mayor fires employees over dereliction of duty
Islamabad :Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Shaikh Anser Aziz who paid a surprise visit to Lake View Park on Friday fired two temporary employees who were found absent from the duty without ordering any inquiry against them.
The employees working on temporary or daily wages in the MCI or CDA have no job security and they could be fired with verbal orders. The same happened with two employees on Friday when they faced wrath of the Islamabad mayor.
He directed for immediate termination of two temporary staffers while directing to start strict disciplinary proceedings against two regular workers of the authority and also sought report in this regard.
He directed that all officials of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) must wear proper uniform while performing their duties. Showing his annoyance on grown wild bushes, grass and dilapidated cleanliness situation of the park, he directed to remove wild bushes, trim trees and improve over all cleanliness of Lake View Park within one week time.
He directed the concerned officers to carryout daily cleanliness and sweeping of the park, so that people from all over the country who visit this facility on daily basis could be provided a clean and tidy environment.
Mayor of Islamabad and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz directed to strict action against absent employees would be taken and no laxity in this regard would be tolerated. He said that Lake View Park is one of the best recreational facilities of the city and MCI would take all possible measures to keep it clean and make this facility more environment friendly.
Mayor of Islamabad also sought detail of licenses and other details of kiosks established at Lake View Park and further directed the park management to ensure provision of hygienic edible items at concessional rates.
On this occasion, General Environment Executive Director Sanaullah Aman apprised the Mayor of Islamabad that 16 employees in three different shifts, have been deputed for cleanliness and security of the park while 21 regular and 20 temporary employees are also performing duties in the park.
He directed the Executive Director General Environment to personally monitor up-gradation of parks, attendance of employees and provision of other recreational facilities so that residents could be served in better way.
