LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) senior central leader and former deputy prime minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi has alleged that the rulers have made life of everyone difficult because they are without spirit of public service because of this reason they tried to close down many of our projects including 1122 but failed. The former deputy PM stated this while talking to representatives of different NGOs who called on him under the leadership of civil society head Abdullah Malik on Thursday.

Those who met him included representatives of Aurat Foundation, Bardasht Foundation, Homeland Pakistan, Labour Education Foundation, Teachers Association Foundation, Awaz Foundation and Bhatta Mazdoor and Child Labour Foundation. The delegation representatives included Khalid Mahmud, Mehr Safdar Ali, Anjum Rafiq, Amna Ulfat, Naseem-ur-Rehman, Samiya Yousuf, Shehnaz Iqbal, Sarah Sheeraz and Ruqaiyya Siddiqui.

The head of the delegation and other members said the projects established by the PML-Q are clearly seen whereas N-League rulers have neither themselves done anything for people nor are letting NGOs do anything and even are scrapping incentives available during the PML-Q rule.

Ch Pervaiz said: “Focus of our politics has always remained common and poor man and because of this we did special welfare works for the deprived segments, did education and books free up to Matric in Punjab, free medicines in emergencies and fixed stipends for children, did legislation regarding child beggars and established institutions for them where they were given education, in Lahore alone 14 gangs forcing children to beg were arrested and punished and established Child Protection Bureau.”
