WASHINGTON: Reality TV star turned political operative Omarosa Manigault is to leave the White House, officials said, the latest departure as Donald Trump’s administration turns one year old. The fiery former star of Trump’s show “The Apprentice” will leave early next year, press secretary Sarah Sanders said Wednesday. “Omarosa Manigault Newman resigned yesterday to pursue other opportunities. Her departure will not be effective until January 20, 2018” said Sanders. “We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service.” Although one of the most prominent African Americans in the Trump administration, raking in $179,700 a year, colleagues often questioned her role in the White House. See could be seen at presidential photo ops, walking the corridors and occasionally in the White House briefing room, but the impact of her “Office of Public Liaison” was unclear. Her departure comes shortly after it was revealed that she held a Bridal Shower in the White House.
