Khursheed holds Nawaz responsible for quorum issue in NA
ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah Wednesday held former prime minister Nawaz Sharif responsible for the issue of quorum in National Assembly, saying that it was Nawaz Sharif who did not take the Parliament seriously and put the lower house in such a situation where the government failed to maintain the quorum.
“Even during the tenure of ex-premier Nawaz Sharif the quorum issue persisted due to non-serious attitude towards the Parliament and same non-serious method was being adopted by the present government,” he said this while talking to newsmen here Wednesday in his chamber at Parliament House.
The Opposition leader said the government was shifting its failure towards the opposition. To a question, Syed Khursheed Shah said unless and until the issue of Fata reforms was resolved, the opposition protest in the National Assembly would continue. “We wanted that people of Fata should get same rights like all other Pakistanis have,” he said. He questioned about the reasons that the issue had not been settled for last 70 years. “The peace in Fata guaranteed with the Fata reforms,” he said. The opposition leader also came hard on the politics in the name of religion and said using the name of religion for political purpose was not a good sign.
