Shahida greets Aqeel, Shahzad

ISLAMABAD: Chairperson Subh-e-Nau Mrs Shahida Kausar Farooq has greeted Aqeel Khan and his partner Shahzad Khan for their title victory in Serena ITF Futures International I tennis tournament which concluded at PTF Tennis Complex on Sunday. In her statement on Monday, Mrs Farooq said that it was great achievement by the duo as they have become first Pakistani pair to win an ITF Futures Doubles title featuring both Pakistani players. “Aqeel Khan has always brought pride for country and once again he has proved that age is not a matter when you are fit enough to perform on such a stage.” Mrs Farooq also greeted Pakistan Tennis Federation management for holding ITF Futures event in Pakistan and providing this opportunity to our players to compete with international stars at their own backyard. Meanwhile, Chairperson Subh-e-Nau announced that SN is going to revive Governor’s Cup and Mayor’s Cup Tennis events in February 2018. She said that these events have been featured tennis tourneys of Pakistan tennis till 1990s.
