PESHAWAR: The residents of various localities in Cantonment area in the provincial capital have expressed grave concern over the frequent natural gas loadshedding and asked the concerned authorities to take notice of the problem.
They complained that gas remained suspended for hours on daily basis in Guberg, Mohallah Ahle Hadith and various other localities and the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) authorities were least bothered to solve the problem of domestic consumers.
Amjad Ali Khan, a consumer told The News that gas supply remained suspended in Mohalla Ahle Hadith in Peshawar Cantt for almost 23 hours daily.
He said they had lodged a complaint with Muhammad Numan, coordinator to general manger SNGPL a month ago who assured the problem would be resolved within a couple of days but despite lapse of a month nobody came to resolve the issue.
He said the authorities had diverted the gas to a CNG station in Saddar area
and domestic consumers were now faced with severe problems.
“The issue is not a loadshedding or low pressure but of diverting the supply to commercial entities,” the consumer added.
The affected consumers have appealed to the authorities to take note of the issue as it was a matter of public interest as depriving domestic consumers of the facility and obliging commercial entities was violation of rules and regulation.
