KP govt committed to providing relief to people: CM
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday said that the government was aware of the problems confronted by the people and efforts were on to provide maximum relief to people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking at a public meeting in Akbarpura here, the chief minister said that providing relief to people was the priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government.
He said that he believed in serving the people and solving their problems. The PTI-led provincial government is concentrating on the solution of people’s genuine problems, he said, adding construction of roads and pavement of streets was not the people’s real issues.
Pervez Khattak said that the successive governments had politicised the health, education, police and other government departments while there was not merit in fresh appointments in the government entities.
He said that there was class-based education system in the province and his government introduced a uniformed education system in the province. “Now the children of rich and poor studying in a state-run school have equal opportunity to compete for better future,” he added.
Pervez Khattak said the provincial government spent billions of rupees to lift the standard of education and provide basic facilities in state-run schools. The government recruited 3,500 new doctors to overcome shortage of doctors and provided other machinery and equipment to public sector hospitals to provide improved healthcare facilities to common people, he added.
He said the PTI-led provincial government introduced reforms in government institutions and restored people confidence in government departments.
He maintained that the government was serious in creating new employment opportunities for the youth, adding new industrial zones were being developed and factories were established in various parts of the province to accommodate the youth. The chief minister said peace had been restored to the province and environment was conducive for investment, adding investors were taking keen interest in investing in the province.
