LAHORE: Leader of a visiting Hindu delegation has said Pakistan is a minority-friendly country and Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has undertaken exemplary steps to promote religious tourism.
Speaking to the media here at ETPB chairman’s residence on Wednesday, delegation leader Shiv Partab Bajaj said the delegation was warmly welcomed in Pakistan and vowed to convey these gestures of hospitality to India. He said security, residence, transport and food, etc. everything provided by the ETPB was good. Bajaj said Hindu community welcomed Chief Justice of Pakistan’s remarks and formation of a committee by CM on some issues at Katas Raj about water shortage, etc. The delegation leader wished that visa restriction should be minimised by Pakistan and India so that maximum people could travel easily for their religious rituals. Siddiq-ul-Farooq, on the occasion, said the issue of sacred water for Hindu devotees would be resolved very soon. He said his department with the help of the government was trying to make a friendly environment for the foreign devotees. The ETPB chairman appealed to Indian authorities to ease visas restrictions for Pakistani pilgrims who wanted to visit shrines and places including Ajmer Sharif.
