Dilawar, Saifullah honoured for serving tennis

ISLAMABAD: Syed Dilawar Abbas (patron Pakistan Tennis Federation) and Salim Saifullah Khan were conferred with awards for their services for Asian and Pakistan tennis respectively.
A simple ceremony was held Wednesday on the sidelines of International Future Tennis at the PTF Complex. Anil Khanna (President Asian Tennis) awarded shield to recognize the services of Dilawar Abbas for his contribution for Asian tennis.
On behalf of Mr Khanna, Salim Saifullah awarded shield to Syed Dilawar Abbas while Dilawar Abbas who has been appointed as lifetime Vice President of Asian Tennis awarded two separate shields to Salim Saifullah on behalf of Asian and International Tennis Federation (ITF) for his services for the uplift of tennis in the country.
Salim Saifullah thanked Asian Tennis and ITF for awards and hoped that tennis would become one of the major sports in Pakistan in days to come. “Look at hustle and bustle in the PTF Complex. Over 23 foreigners are here for the ITF Futures which is being staged after seven years of gap. Pakistan is fast becoming hub of tennis activities,” Salim Saifullah said. He announced that POF Wah Administration has agreed to invest Rs 100 million for the uplift of tennis facilities in the Complex. “Now we are in a position to give Complex a modern look,” he said.He confirmed reports that secretary PTF Sanaullah Aman has resigned. “Now we are in a hunt for a new secretary who would be professional.”
