KARACHI: Khawaja Tanveer Ahmad, Member Inland Revenue (Operations), Federal Board of Revenue has assured value-added textile sector exporters of release of their refunds within one week, a statement said on Monday. He stated this during his visit to the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) House. Tanveer said that the FBR recorded a growth of 25 percent in tax collection during November after a decade and appreciated that the private sector has discharged its tax liabilities promptly, while the response from public sector was not up to the FBR expectations. FBR member ensured that payments against approved RPOs would be made from the next week. On the request of PHMA, he agreed to provide access of FBR system to PHMA, enabling its members to check their deferred claims of last five years.
