Completion of second LNG terminal lauded

Islamabad: Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders (ICST) on Tuesday said completion of second LNG terminal in record time is a great achievement of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi which will improve gap between demand and supply gap of gas.
The development will improve production of the industrial sector, boost exports as well as employment and improve revenue which it will also help the government push up the GDP, it said.
LNG is the cheapest and cleanest fuel which will benefit masses and the industrial sector while government and private sector should also establish LPG terminals to benefit people of far-flung areas, said ICST Patron Shahid Rasheed Butt.
LPG terminal is a low-cost solution will not only improve lives of people of remote off-grid areas, help balance prices in the local market, reduce deforestation and help curb smuggling of LPG from Iran, he added.
Shahid Rasheed Butt said that the newly-inaugurated LNG terminal will start supplying gas to three LNG-based power plants in Punjab to reduce electricity shortfall while it will also boost LNG imports from 600 mmcfd to 1200 mmcfd.
