SUKKUR: Panic and fear gripped the District and Sessions Court in Khairpur when an officer of the anti-corruption police resorted to firing.
Reports said that the officer of the anti-corruption, Taj Muhammad Wasan, along with his subordinate staff, allegedly attempted to kidnap Waheed Ali Gopang, Ashraf Ali and Bakht Ali Rajpar in the premises of the District and Sessions Court when the latter arrived there for a bail hearing.
Reports said that they offered resistance and were joined by their fellow lawyers.Following a scuffle between the rival groups, the officer of the anti-corruption allegedly resorted to firing. There were no reports of any injuries.Lawyers later protested against the police and demanded arrest of the official.Reports said that the District and Sessions Judge of Khairpur had ordered the police to register an FIR against the anti-corruption official.
