Nadra, Gojra MC dispute resolved

TOBA TEK SINGH: Dispute between Nadra and Gojra municipal committee on the issue of building rent was resolved on Monday.
The meeting was mediated by Assistant Commissioner Asif Ali Dogar. The municipal committee (MC) was demanding Rs0.1 million per month rent from National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for its building which was presently in use of the former against the rent of Rs5,000 per month.
Nadra had announced closing its Gojra office to merge it with the Toba office with a plea that there is no suitable building present there as the court had ordered to vacate the MC building.
However, it was decided in the Monday’s meeting that Nadra will pay Rs25,000 per month rent to the municipal committee for the same building and Nadra will not close its office. The meeting was attended by two Nadra assistant directors Arshad Abbas and M Riaz while Gojra MC chairman Mian M Islam and MC chief officer Zahid Fareed Tarar.
