Corrupt practices: NAB arrests CDA officials, shopping mall owner

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi arrested the officials of the CDA and owner of shopping mall in Super Jinnah Market for misuse of authority and corrupt practices.
The NAB Rawalpindi has arrested Ghulam Murtaza Malik, the then DDG (Building Control Section), CDA, Khalil Ahmed, the then director (Building Control Section), CDA, Ammar Idrees, the then deputy director (Building Control Section), CDA, Khadim Hussain, the then assistant director (Building Control Section) CDA and Rana Abdul Qayyum, owner of Safa Gold Mall, Markaz F-7, Islamabad on charges of corrupt practices and misuse of authority.
As per details, the case relates to auction of Plot No.7, F-7 Markaz Islamabad. Matter was referred by Public Account Committee (PAC) to NAB. Accused persons in connivance with each others have committed the offence of misuse of authority and corrupt practices.
In a recent meeting held on November 14, The CDA board decided to cancel the plot lease. The accused will be produced before the Accountability Court for seeking physical remand on today (Tuesday).
