Pesco officials booked after two men electrocuted

MANSEHRA: The police registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against officials of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) after two men were electrocuted in Oghi and Garhi Habibullah that triggered protests. Mohammad Arif was electrocuted when he mistakenly touched an electric pole in Garhi Habibullah.
The family and local people blocked the Mansehra-Kashmir Road by placing the body on it, suspending the traffic for hours. The protesters demanded registration of the FIR against officials of Pesco, who according to them, didn't fix the fault which took the life of Mohammad Arif. The protesters, who had gathered at Milad Chowk, raised slogans against the Pesco. The protesters reopened the road after Gul Nawaz Khan, Station House Officer of Garhi Habibullah Police Station, held successful talks with elders and lodged the FIR against Pesco officials. The family and residents in Karori area in Oghi also held a protest and blocked Oghi-Karoro Road to protest the electrocution of one Noor, a watchman in the Forest Department.
