FIR of DI Khan girl stripping incident registered on same day: IGP

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salahuddin Mahsud on Saturday said that the first information report (FIR) of the incident in which a girl was stripped naked in Dera Islami Khan was registered on the day of the occurrence.
In a communiqué, the IGP said that nine accused were nominated in the FIR.
He said the police had arrested eight of the accused while one was on the run. He rejected reports that a member of the provincial assembly was using his influence to protect the accused.
The police couldn’t recover any evidence, video clip or pictures of the victims from the accused, said the IGP, adding, that whosoever had any evidence should share it with the police.
