Effective coordination stressed in anti-polio efforts

PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan on Friday said that the coverage of polio eradication campaign across the province with an effective coordination and communication process between the Emergency Operation Centre and district administrations must be ensured.
He was presiding over a meeting of Provincial Task Force for Polio eradication at Civil Secretariat here. Secretary Health Abid Majeed, commissioners, deputy commissioners of each district and representatives of World Health Organisation also attended, said a handout.
He emphasised to exchange best practices and experiences, local and modern remedies and case to case solutions continuously.
Referring to the refusal cases, participants were directed that efforts should be made to bring this segment to zero level and covering all the pockets must be the main target of the overall activities and efforts should be made for its achievements.
The issue of migrant families’ children discussed with special attention and it was decided that arrangements at transit points of inter districts, provincials and Internationals boundaries would be further improved and availability of polio teams must be ensured at all such points round the clock.
