Islamabad :To improve road engineering safety standards, the Ministry of Communication (MoC) is conducting a five-day Introduction to Road Safety engineering training course, that will be held in Serena Hotel from November 20-25, 2017, says a press release.
Representatives from National Highways Authority (NHA), National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) will be attending the five-day workshop.
Three pilot road safety engineering assessment will be conducted as part of the training. The N5 road section where the crash occurred is one of them. The other road sections are E 35 (Hazara Expressway) and Service Road G 10 - F 10.
MoC is implementing this project as a capacity building activity using formal and ad hoc, on-the-job training techniques to transfer basic road safety auditing concepts to local engineers and gain their input into the development of the key recommendations for new “safety-oriented” road standards which will be issued for consultation on a national level to gain consensus and ownership of the standards produced.
