Ex-minister defends joining PTI

LANDIKOTAL: A former federal minister and religious scholar Dr Noorul Haq Qadri said on Thursday he had joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as he wished to launch efforts against social evils including corruption and injustice. He said this while speaking at a welcoming gathering arranged by the PTI Khyber Agency chapter for him in Landikotal tehsil, Khyber Agency. Qadri said that he joined the PTI impressed by Imran Khan’s vision to ensure a corruption-free Pakistan. He said that sitting member of the parliament from NA-45 did not keep to his word he had made during his election campaign in 2013. He said that Fata was passing through a critical phase as militancy and extremism had severely affected everyone. “My family and supporters rendered sacrifices of their lives in the past several years of militancy but they did not bow to anyone. Regarding the Fata reforms and merger, Qadri said he would respect the party discipline. He said the sitting MNA from NA-45 had promised several mega projects but he did nothing.
