Moot on Aerospace Science & Engineering ends

Islamabad The impressive Fifth International Conference on Aerospace Science & Engineering (ICASE) organised by Institute of Space Technology concluded here at IST Islamabad.
ICASE 2017 was an international forum in which scientists, engineers, researchers, professionals and students interacted and discussed the latest themes and trends related with aerospace science and engineering. It provided a platform to share experiences, foster collaborations across industry and academia, and to evaluate emerging aerospace technologies and developments across the globe.
ICASE 2017 encompassed a diverse blend of thematic areas including Aerospace and Avionics, Satellite Design, Development and Security, Mechanical Engineering for Aerospace Applications, Aerospace Materials Design and Engineering, Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Astronomy and Astrophysics, Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Science, Applied Mathematics and Statistics & Space Technology Management and Awareness.
Dr.Najam Abbas, Secretary ICASE presented the overview of the conference while giving the details of different sessions. A total of 100 research papers were presented in the conference along with 25 poster presentations. There were 26 technical sessions during the conference covering the different themes and tracks related with aerospace science and engineering. In addition to that, there were 3 plenary sessions, 7 panel discussions, and 20 tutorials and workshops sessions in connection with conference themes.
A spectrum of 50 national and international invited speakers from sixteen countries namely Canada, USA, UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Sudan, Egypt, Turkey, UAE, China, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia and Pakistan shared their research accomplishments with the academicians, researchers and students. The conference concluded with the closing remarks of distinguished international and national invited speakers.
International invited speakers included the German Astronaut Dr. Gerhard Thiele from European Space Agency, Dr. Leonardo Reynari Italy, Dr. Ahmed El-Mowafy Australia, Dr. Alim Rustem Aslan Turkey, Dr. Li-Ta HSU Hong Kong, Dr. Hesham M. El-Kaliouby Egypt, Dr. Yuxiaozhou China, Mr. Armengol Torres Spain, Dr. Mamdouh Abdeen Egypt, Dr. Moutaman Mirghani Sudan, Ms. Roseanne Ramos Philippines, Dr. Yu Fang China, Dr. Rafiq Canada, Dr. Javed Khan USA, Dr. DDGL Dahanayaka Sri Lanka, Dr. Muhammad Yusof Ismail, Malaysia, Dr. Nozair Germany, Dr. Aquib Moin, UAE, Dr Abid Ali Khan Oman.
Vice Chancellor IST Engr Imran Rahman thanked the keynote speakers and presented souvenirs to them. The speakers praised the efforts of IST for providing such a valuable platform where the researchers from all across the world got a chance to interact, network and share their research findings to the mutual benefit of academia and industry.
