In November 2014, ANF busted a gang of drug traffickers at Karachi Airport engaged in smuggling of narcotics abroad. During that operation, 8.5 kilograms of heroin was recovered along with arrest of four persons; however, the key figure remained at large, ANF Headquarters said.
The incident was registered at ANF Karachi; vide FIR no. 36/2014, in pursuance of the case, a dedicated ANF team remained engaged on discrete assignment, who finally arrested the linchpin, hence successfully completing the chain of drug trafficking organisation.
On 23 November 2014, ANF (Karachi Airport team) at Jinnah International Airport, thwarted attempt to smuggle 8.5 kilograms of heroin abroad. During the operation, 2.5 kilograms of heroin was recovered from possession of accused Muhammad Yousaf, Yousaf Raza and Asad Ali, who were arrested at the entrance of Air Freight Unit, Export Cargo. Heroin was concealed in a cloth bag. After initial investigations, Salman, an employee of Shaheen Airport Services was also arrested with 6 kilograms of heroin kept in his personal cupboard, which he intended to smuggle to UK.
During investigations, the accused disclosed that Muhammad Naeem son Sher Muhammad resident of district Swabi was the key-person, who used to plan, invest and regulate the chain of narco-smuggling. While prosecuting the case, CNS Court Karachi issued non-bail able warrant of Muhammad Naeem, who was later declared as proclaimed offender.
In view of importance of the case, Director General of ANF Major General Khawar Hanif issued special ordered to nab the proclaimed offender. Hence, a dedicated ANF team was constituted, which remained on desecrate tasks for three months and finally executed a successful plan, arresting much wanted Muhammad Naeem. It is pertinent to mention that Muhammad Naeem was also involved in another narcotics case registered at PS ANF, Karachi in 2007.
Reportedly, Muhammad Naeem participates actively in politics, so as to be included amongst influential.
