LAHORE
BROTHER of a slain worker of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Haq Nawaz, has challenged report of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) before the Lahore High Court for exonerating State Minister Abid Sher Ali and former provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah from the murder charges.
Nawaz was killed during a PTI rally in Faisalabad last year allegedly by firing carried out by PML-N workers.
Besides Abid Sher Ali and Rana Sanaullah, the case was registered against DCO Faisalabad Noorul Amin Mengal and many leaders of the ruling PML-N.
Petitioner Ata Muhammad said the JIT in its investigation report did not even discuss the names of these influential personalities nominated in the FIR.
He said the JIT violated the law by not investigating the nominated suspects.
He asked the court to set aside the report of the JIT submitted before the trial court and order it to hold the investigation afresh on merit.
