Invigilators arrested for taking ‘bribe’ from students

Rawalpindi :The Anti-Corruption Department, Rawalpindi led by Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mushtaq on Monday raided an examination centre of Government Muslim High School Saidpur Road and arrested superintendent and deputy superintendent of examination centre for allegedly taking bribe from students and allowing them to cheat in papers.

The Anti-Corruption Police Station has registered FIR under Section of 35/17 against Maqsood-ur-Rehman (superintendent) and Tahir Mehmood (deputy superintendent) of the examination centre.

The applicant Muhammad Usman a student resident of Adiala Road appeared before director anti-corruption, Rawalpindi and complained that superintendent and deputy superintendent examination centre had taken ‘bribe’ of Rs30,000 from the students for cheating in papers. “We had paid Rs30,000 but before start of paper superintendent and deputy superintendent of examination centre demanded an extra Rs8,000. “They warned us if we did not given then more money they will never provide us the cheating facility,” he added.

The anti-corruption department, Rawalpindi director has appointed Mumtaz Mekan (Inspector) for raiding the examination centre. The anti-corruption department, Rawalpindi spokesman Amjad Bhatti told ‘The News’ that they have arrested the alleged culprits red-handed and registered an FIR under Section of 35/17 against them.
