PTI workers disappointed as Tareen cancels visit
DIR: Thousands of excited workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) returned home disheartened on Sunday when PTI’s General Secretary Jahangir Tareen did not turn up at the party’s public gathering in Dir Stadium.
The PTI Upper Dir chapter had organised the gathering to show power in Upper Dir. Jahangir Tareen was scheduled to address the event.
The enthusiastic and exited workers of PTI had started to throng the Dir Stadium early in the morning.
A huge number of workers from far-off areas including Thal, Kalkot, Byar, Barikot, Sheringal, Nehag Dara, Wari, Akhgram, Brawal tehsil had gathered at the stadium.
However, they were disappointed after announcement was made that Jahangir Tareen and other leaders had cancelled the trip due to bad weather. In Dir, it rained hardly for a few minutes around 2 O’clock in the afternoon. However, the weather had become clear immediately after that.
