Eid gifts presented to families of 28 martyred SSU commandos

KARACHI: Senior officers of the Sindh police’s Special Security Unit (SSU) visited the residences of 28 martyred commandos and distributed Eidul Azha gifts among their families.

Eid gifts were also distributed among the families of the late 16 SSU commandos who passed away during service, a press release said on Thursday.

The senior officers, on the orders of SSU Commandant Maqsood Ahmed, visited the residences of the late personnel of the force as per a tradition of the unit and presented gifts, including cash, among the families in Karachi and the interior of Sindh.

In his message, the commandant said: “They made immense contribution in the line of their duties with dedication and commitment.”
The families appreciated the efforts of the SSU officers for remembering them on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

Separately, the regional security office of the American Consulate General in Karachi organised a ceremony to honour and acknowledge the services of SSSU personnel for the consulate.

SSU Commandant Maqsood Ahmed, Foreign Security Cell SSP Faisal Abdullah Chachar, SSU SP Muzaffar Iqbal and other senior officials attended the ceremony, said a press release.

Regional Security Officer (RSO) John Hislop commended the SSU personnel for their outstanding services and professionalism and also extended gratitude to Commandant Maqsood Ahmed for his support in ensuring the security of the US Consulate and its staff. The RSO presented certificates to SSU personnel for completing professional training.
