LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, who launched the election campaign for Begum Kulsoom Nawaz on Saturday, said the PML-N would win the upcoming NA-120 by-election, scheduled to be held on September 17.

Addressing a meeting of the PML-N local government representatives at the party Secretariat in Model Town, she said Nawaz Sharif was deposed only for not getting salary from his son, adding that he would become the prime minister for the fourth time with the support of people.

“The PML-N is an organised party,” she said and added that the victory in NA-120 would be a victory of every party worker.

Federal Minister for Commerce and Textile Pervaiz Malik, Pervaiz Rasheed, Khawaja Ahmad Hassan and Lahore Mayor Col (retd) Mubashir Javed were present at the meeting.

The ousted prime minister’s daughter said Nawaz was betrayed by those he loved the most. “God will deal with those who conspired against my father,” she said.

Maryam said she was heartened to see the enthusiasm of the PML-N workers.

Requesting the party activists to pray for the quick recovery of her mother, she said, “We must all work together for the country’s betterment.”

Meanwhile, five members of Hamza Shahbaz’s family departed for London on Saturday boarding a PIA flight, days after he flew abroad.

According to airport sources those going to London included Hamza’s sister, children and wife. The Punjab chief minister’s son Suleman Shehbaz and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s daughter-in-law also accompanied the group, the sources added. —
