NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehr eek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial minister Iqbal Hussain Khattak may join Awami National Party, sources said on Thursday.
They said that Iqbal Hussain Khattak had joined PTI before the general elections in 2013. However, the party did not award him ticket for contesting elections and subsequently he suspended his political activities.
The sources said the ANP leadership was in contact with the disgruntled PTI leader and finally succeeded in convincing him to join their party. They said that ANP leaders Mian Iftikhar Hussain and former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti persuaded him to join the ANP.
The ANP leaders would hold final meeting with Iqbal Hussain at his residence in the posh in Peshawar on February 8. The sources said that Iqbal Hussain would announce his decision of joining ANP after the meeting at a press conference at his residence.
