Scattered rain likely

LAHORE :High humidity accompanied by heat wave continued to prevail in the city while Met office predicted chances of scattered rain in the next 24 hours.

Met officials said weak seasonal low lies over north Balochistan while monsoon currents are penetrating southern and upper parts of the country. They added that a weak westerly wave lies over Kashmir and adjoining areas persisted.

Met officials predicted that rain-thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Kalat, Zhob divisions, while at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. They said hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

On Tuesday, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country while rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Karachi division and at isolated places in Zhob, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir.

Rainfall was recorded in various cities, including Kamra, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Sakrand, Hyderabad, Nagarparkar, Kaloi, Chhor, Mithi, Risalpur, Kohat, Barkhan and Garhi Dupatta.
