CPNE announces editors, journalists, civil society liaison body
KARACHI: Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) President Zia Shahid has announced Editors, Journalists and Civil Society Liaison Committee for the tenure of 2017-18.
Shaheen Qureshi has been appointed as Chairman and Abdul Khalique Ali as Deputy Chairman of the committee, said a statement issued by Secretary General Aijaz-ul-Haq here on Monday. The statement said that Editors, Journalists and Civil Society Liaison Committee had been approved in the last session of Standing Committee's meeting.
According to statement the formation of committee aims to promote and safeguard interests of member publications as well as liaison between media and civil society. The committee will have to submit its suggestions/recommendations to the Standing Committee.
Other members of the committee are Imtiaz Alam, Syed Mumtaz Shah, Kazi Asad Abid, Ghulam Nabi Chandio, Amin Yousuf, Ilyas Shakir, Hamid Hussain Abidi, Tahir Najmi, Tahir Farooq, Maqsood Yousufi, Abdul Rehman Mangrio, Owais Aslam Ali, Abid Aleem, Aslam Khan, Arif Baloch, Bashir Ahmed Memon, Javed Mehr Shamsi, Ali bin Younus, Mansoor Korai, Waseem Ahmed, Mumtaz Tahir, Mohsin Bilal, Muzaffar Ejaz, Shakeel Ahmed Turabi, Syed Sajjad Bokhari and Mumtaz Ali.
