Police officers arrange gathering for families of fallen colleagues
PESHAWAR: A group of police officers arranged a gathering for the families of their fallen batchmates to pay them tributes and assure their children that they would never be left alone.

This was to share our happiness with the families of our friends who are no more in this world and to tell them they are not alone as we are there to help them in any need,” Nisar Ahmad Khan, the senior superintendent of police investigation Peshawar, told The News.
A number of SPs and DSPs, including Tariq Iqbal, Tariq Habib, Nisar Ahmad, Tahir Khan Dawar, Sahibzada Sajjad, Abdul Samad, Aslam Nawaz, Muzamil Khan, Niaz Khan, Mujibur Rahman, Mushtaq Khan, Mustafa Kamal and others participated in the gathering along with their families and interacted with children of fallen colleagues.
Tahir Dawar along with kids of Sahibzada Sajjad and other officers performed the duty of stage secretary.
“Some of the families have come from remote districts to participate in the event. This is what we wanted that all of our kids and families sit together and exchange contact numbers to help in case any member of families of our deceased friends needed,” said Tariq Habib.
During the function, many danced to the tunes of different songs played by the Police Band. Popular actors Ismail Shahid, Said Rahman Shino, Gul Bali and Zardad Bulbul performed on the stage to amuse the participants, especially the children. A magic show was also part of the colourful event.
Later, the CCPO distributed gifts and pocket money among the children of all the officers of the 1995 batch.
