TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) deputy chief Maulana Ismail on Sunday called upon ulema and teachers to raise awareness in people against interest-based economy.
Speaking at the concluding session of a weeklong ‘Fahmul Quran’ class at the rest-house ground, Maulana Ismail said that interest on loans had been declared a war against Allah and there could be no peace or justice without abolishing this kind of economy.
Hundreds of men, women and children from different areas of Lower Dir attended the last session of the class.
Maulana said that contrary to the teachings of Qur’an the Pakistani rulers were promoting interest-based economy. Praising the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the chief Khateeb said it amended the laws on private interest on the loans and took action against the people involved in it.
