Parks and recreation
On Monday (Aug 14), an impressive air show was held at F-9 Park, Islamabad. The main purpose for the construction of the park was to conduct recreational activities for residents. The local authorities took a positive step to arrange a programme and allow people to enjoy their day. But it would have been better if the authorities had paid attention to the dilapidated condition of the park. The park’s boundary wall is broken and its jogging tracks are in a deplorable condition. Unmaintained flower beds and the growth of wild grass have tampered with the beauty of the park.
Parks in Islamabad often become a target of encroachers. However, this time, CDA officials construct a boundary wall to protect the park from the land mafia. This, too, cannot stop wrongdoers from tarnishing the beauty of the place. The concerned authorities should take immediate action to bring back the beauty of the park.
