Man stabs mother, stepsister to death

LAHORE: A man killed his mother and stepsister with the blows of a knife over unknown issue in the Chung police area on Wednesday.

The victims have been identified as Shabana Kausar, 35 and her daughter Aalia Shahzadi, 5, residents of Shahpur Mohala Talabwala. 

Police said one Rafiqe, son of Allah Ditta Araeein, a resident of Kamalia, had contracted love marriage with Shahbana nine years back. They were living in a rented house owned by one Khushi Muhammad at Shahpur Kanjran.  It was Shabana’s second marriage and she had a son named Awais from her first husband. The victim’s son Awais and nephew Shahbaz had been staying with them for the last six days. 

On the day of the incident, accused Awais, with the help of Shahbaz, attacked his mother with a knife at the upper storey of the house and killed her. Meanwhile, he strangled the minor girl and her body was found lying in the courtyard. After confirming their deaths, they fled the scene. 

On the information of the victim's husband, police reached the scene and collected forensic evidence. Police have started conducting raids to arrest the accused persons. Police have removed the bodies to morgue.

body found: A sack-packed body of a 35-year-old woman was found at the Railway Station in the Naulakha police area on Wednesday. A passerby spotted a bag near Watan High School as the bad foul was also emanating from it and informed police. A police official said the victim was first tortured and later killed by unknown killers. Police have started a search for the victim’s family to initiate investigations. 

Meanwhile, two people were found dead in different parts of the city on Wednesday. A 25-year-old youth and a 60-year-old man were found dead in the limits of Old Anarkali and Shahdara police stations respectively. Police claimed that both men, yet to be identified, were addicts who might have died of overdoses of drugs. The bodies have been removed to morgue.

11 accused held: Police and Punjab Rangers conducted combined operation at Batapur and arrested 11 accused. The specials teams seized a huge cache of sophisticated weapons the custody of the accused who included Asghar, Riaz, Saleem, Mujahid, Zafar, Sadiq, Waris, Farooq, Ashraf and Rehmat. The weapons included Uzi gun, 12 bore, four guns of two 223 bore and two of 244 bore and two pistols.
