‘Public trust motivates Nawaz’
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said Nawaz Sharif was inspired by the people’s trust, adding that mass contact was a fundamental right of every political party.
In a series of tweets, Shahbaz said, “It is people’s trust that inspires Nawaz Sharif. May Allah keep my brother, my leader & [and] all the participants of rally in His protection.“Contact with masses is a fundamental right of every political party... It is linchpin of democratic order & [and] oxygen for political parties,” he added, as Nawaz left Islamabad for Lahore in a historic rally.
In a separate statement, the chief minister said acknowledgment by his leader Nawaz of his humble efforts was a precious asset for him, as he referred to the views expressed by the former prime minister in Islamabad.
Shahbaz said the hearts of the people of Pakistan and Nawaz beat jointly and the masses had shown their tremendous love for the former prime minister during the rally in the twin cities.Selecting Nawaz for prime ministership thrice showed people’s tremendous love and confidence in him, he added.
Also on Wednesday, the chief minister paid rich tributes to the bravery and valour of Maj Ali Salman and three other soldiers who embraced martyrdom during an operation against the terrorists in the Timergara area of Lower Dir.
Extending his sympathies to the bereaved families, he said the whole nation was proud of her brave sons who had sacrificed their lives for the country, adding, “They are our heroes and their great sacrifices will not go waste.”
The chief minister in another a statement said there was no room for political jugglers in Pakistani politics, adding that claimants of new Pakistan had defaced the country. “Deceit, sit-ins and unsubstantiated accusations have become the pivot of their politics. Similarly, U-turns, mendacity and double standards in every matter are their routine,” he added.
Shahbaz said the PML-N was a centre of hope for the people and added that “peaceful, developed and prosperous Pakistan is our mission”. He said the elements damaging the development process through the politics of anarchy would not escape the people’s anger, adding that they would punish the anti-development elements through the power of their vote.
