KARACHI: Abubaker Talha and Zain Ehtasham reached the final of under-10 category in the 6th Essa Lab Open National Juniors & Seniors Tennis Championship here at Karachi Gymkhana on Wednesday.
In the semi-finals, Abubaker beat Nadir Reza 8-6 and Zain defeated Abdullah Aftab 8-1. In the under-12 semi-finals, Taha Aman beat M Ali 6-3, 6-1 and Asher Mir defeated Saim Danish 6-2, 6-0.
Yahya Ehtasham thrashed Ibrahim Khan 6-0, 6-3 in their under-14 semi-final. Amin Shafi smashed Hasheesh Kumar 6-1, 6-0 in their under-16 semi-final.
Earlier, Amin Shafi had thrashed Arish 6-0, 6-0 and Nouman Aftab beat Rayyan Jawad 6-2, 6-0 in the under-16 quarter-finals. Nouman Aftab overpowered Noor-e-Mustafa 7-5, 3-6, 6-0 in their under-18 quarter-final.
In men’s doubles semi-final, the pair of Asad Khan and Aqeel Shabbir beat the duo of Vinot Das and Shahbaz 6-3, 5-7, 10-3. In soft tennis semi-finals, Robin Das beat Ahmed Ehtisham 5-2 and Asad Khan beat Eibad Sarwar Hussain Khan 6-4.
