LAHORE: Hot and humid weather prevailed in the provincial capital here Friday while Met Office predicted similar weather conditions with chances of scattered rain during the next 24 hours.
Met Officials said a seasonal low lies over north Balochistan while weak moist currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating upper parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is affecting northern parts of the country and its adjoining areas.
The Met Office predicted that mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country while more rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand division and Kashmir. On Friday weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall was recorded at several places including Kamra, Sialkot, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Kasur, Dir, Parachinar, Malamjabba, Risalpur, Garidupatta, Bagrote, Chillas and Gupis. Friday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 44°C while in Lahore it was 39°C, minimum was 28.4 and humidity level in the morning was 41 per cent.
