Added burden

From day one the present government has left no stone unturned to put extreme burden on the common man. The latest such burden is the petrol crisis. The government wastes no time in putting fuel adjustments in electricity bills but it should ideally reverse this adjustment when the petrol price is low internationally.
Our politicians blatantly accept overcharging in electricity bills but no one is ever held responsible. The same is the case with the petrol crisis. Even when petrol is dirt cheap in the international market, the government has increased GST on petroleum products to finance the lavish lifestyle of the government functionaries. There should be a mechanism of check and balance without any external or political influence. If a government does not perform, the judiciary should step in. If the judiciary is not performing, some other influence should be used. Unfortunately, no one is ever held accountable for any wrong in our country.
