Court maintains Ayyan’s bailable arrest warrants

RAWALPINDI: A Customs Court accepted model Ayyan Ali’s plea for exemption from appearance in court in currency smuggling case and adjourned the hearing till October 7.
The decision was taken by the Customs Court during the proceedings of the currency smuggling case.
During the hearing, the counsel for Ayyan, Latif Khosa, prayed for exempting for his client from appearance due to her engagements and for maintaining her bailable arrest warrants.
Ayyan Ali was arrested from Benazir International Airport in 2015 for carrying more than $500,000 on the charges of currency smuggling. She was sent to the Adiala Jail where she spent four months before court approved her bail. –Agencies
