Panasonic plans stronger presence
KARACHI: Hiroki Soejima, Managing Director Panasonic for the Middle East and Africa, on Thursday said Pakistan was becoming a lucrative market for multinational companies with the growing population and rising living standards of consumers.
“Looking at Pakistan’s economic development, I hope our business will also boom in line with the progress of future projects related to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),” Soejima told a press conference at a local hotel.
“Panasonic is alive to the fact that Pakistan has an enormous potential as a market for growth because consumers' affordability is on the rise with an increase in the urbanisation.”
Soejima said Panasonic not only produces electronics and consumers goods and home appliances but it also manufactures enterprise solutions for meeting the needs of commercial operations and business operations. “Hence we are looking for growth in this direction,” he said.
He said the share of Panasonic was set to increase from single digit to double digit in the future including all of its segments.
“Panasonic, with its local partners, who understand the lifestyle of Pakistani consumers, will continue to offer right products that add value to the customers’ life through convenience and true Japanese quality,” Soejima said.
