Foreign graduates perform well in PMDC exam

Islamabad: The foreign medical graduates have done well in the recent Pakistan Medical and Dental Council registration examination. All Pakistani nationals having foreign medical and dental qualifications have to pass the PMDC National Examination Board examination to practice in the country.

As the PMDC declares the results of the NEB Step III exam, which was held in four parts on July 15, 16, 22 and 23, the overall pass rate was 96 per cent with 756 of the 786 candidates turning out to be successful.

In the Part I of the examination, of the 200 candidates, 188 passed with the pass percentage of 94, while in the Part II, 192 of the 200 candidates remained successful with 96 per cent pass rate.

In the Part III, 196 of the 200 candidates passed with the pass percentage coming to 98. In the Part IV, 180 of the 186 candidates remained successful with the pass rate of 96 per cent. The exam results have been uploaded on the PMDC website for the information of all concerned.

PMDC President Prof Shabbir Lehri praised the National University of Medical Sciences, NEB Committee and relevant staff members of the PMDC for successfully conducting the examination. He also said the addition of foreign graduates would help improve the medical sector in Pakistan.
