RDA conducts operation against illegal use of land

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Monday conducted operation against illegal land use and sealed property in residential area of Saidpur Road Scheme.

Following directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division / Director General (DG) RDA Talat Mahmood Gondal, RDA’s Building Control Wing has been actively conducting continuous operations against illegal/unauthorised commercial and residential construction activities including plazas/shops, schools and other illegal land use within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi city.

In pursuance of directions, Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, RDA’s Enforcement Team today in the supervision of RDA's Building Control Superintendent Syed Aslam Shah, Building inspector Mukhtar Ahmad and others with the assistance of Rawalpindi Police from the concerned Police Station carried out operation against illegal flats at Saidpur Road Scheme. RDA Building Control Wing sealed illegal flats owned by Ibrar Manzoor and Waqar Manzoor at plot no. 597/A-3 Saidpur Road Scheme. The owners of the property constructed illegal flats in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2007 under section 39 and 8.2.2. The RDA DG has directed the Enforcement Wing to take strict action against illegal / unauthorised constructions commercial activities and encroachments without any fear or favour.

AIOU: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will start its new academic session (admissions-Autumn 2017) from August 1.

The admission will be open from Matric to PhD level. According to Directorate of Admissions, a number of new programs of BS, M.Phil and Ph.D level would be introduced from the new semester as well. 

Besides this, short-courses of professional nature will also be launched as per the new initiatives recently taken by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui. The University is expanding its scope of academic programs according to the market's needs and interests of general public. Being the Mega University in the public sector, it was looking forward to include maximum number of disciplines in its educational net.
