PUCIT starts online admissions
LAHORE
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir inaugurated PU College of Information Technology’s indigenous single sign-on admission system.
The ceremony was attended by PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar and senior faculty members. Every year PUCIT attracts more than 16,000 students from all over the country for entrance tests for admission to various academic degree programmes in the college. This year Punjab University’s College of Information Technology has built and deployed an automated online system to facilitate students to register for the entrance tests at the college.
The system has been built in-house and hosted on a cloud to ensure high availability and good performance.
The automated solution allows students to register online, print challan forms, pay entrance test fee to their nearest bank branches and print roll number slips.
The system will greatly facilitate students to complete the process of registration without visiting the campus. Previously, students were required to travel to the college premises and spend considerable time in long queues to complete the entrance test registration process.
Punjab University vice chancellor appreciated Punjab University’s College of Information Technology Principal Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar’s efforts in automating key business processes in the college for the sake of transparency and efficiency.
He commended the efforts of team of college teachers and staff who spearheaded the efforts.
On the first day of online registration, more than 1,500 applicants signed up and printed their challan forms to submit the fee. The URL to access the system is https://entrytest.pucit.edu.pk.
