ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Thursday asked the PTI Chairman Imran Khan not to run but to face the ruling party with courage and avoid seeking the alms of the prime minister’s resignation.
Talking to the media outside the Supreme Court, the PML-N leaders expressed the confidence that the Supreme Court will throw what they called the baseless JIT report in the dustbin. They said Imran Khan had failed to present the trail of billions of rupees in the apex court.
Hanif Abbasi said Imran was not appearing before the Supreme Court and changing his lawyers every now and then like in the Election Commission. He said there were three offshore companies in the names of a sister of Imran Khan and the property in Dubai also put a question mark on the PTI chairman.
“Everything would be clear during the investigation,” he added. Abbasi said Imran Khan claims of having the money trail of his Banni Gala property but failed to provide it so far.
“In fact, he doesn’t have any evidence to provide in the court.” He alleged that through foreign funding Imran khan was tasked with creating worst situation in Pakistan. Daniyal Aziz said Imran Khan was hiding at his residence. “The chairman PTI is leveling false allegations against the PML-N leaders,” he said.
Talal Chaudhry said the prime minister will not resign on any false report because the general public had elected him through their votes. “We will prove in the Supreme Court that the JIT report is not investigation but revenge on the PML-N. The PML-N respects the judiciary and believes in the rule of law,” he said.
