Minister inspects hospital, removes MS

LAHORE: Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir visited Govt Samanabad Hospital on Tuesday. 

He visited emergency, gynae ward, pharmacy and dispensary of the hospital. Additional Secretary (Technical) Dr Asim Altaf, Deputy Mayor Mian Tariq, Director Pharmacy Azhar Saleemi and MS Dr Gulraiz were present. 

According to a handout issued, the minister checked cleanliness in washrooms. Taking notice of shortage of staff in the hospital, Kh Imran Nazir directed Additional Secretary to fill vacant posts of doctors in 24 hours. He said the building of the hospital is very beautiful and medical equipment and medicines are available in the hospital but people are not fully benefitting from the facilities of the hospital due to shortage of the staff.

Talking to the media, Khawaja Imran Nazir said he would hold meeting with Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan and get issued orders for posting of doctors and pharmacist.

The minister ordered for transferring gynaecologist Dr Sofia Tariq, who left the hospital before duty timing and directed her to report the department. He said the 25-bed hospital will be upgraded to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. He said the staff would be posted in the hospital according to the SNE. 

Meanwhile, after the visit, the minister made major reshuffling in the hospital staff and removed MS Dr Gulraiz from his post and posted Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed (awaiting posting) as medical superintendent in place of Dr Gulraiz. 

Moreover, Dr Zahid Abbas consultant anesthetist has been transferred and posted at THQ Hospital Esa Khel District Mianwali. Dr Momina Asif gynaecologist has also been transferred and posted at THQ Hospital Noor Pur Thal, district Khushab and Dr Sofia Tariq has also been transferred and posted at THQ Hospital Esa Khel District Mianwali. 

Kh Imran Nazir said no negligence in the provision of medical facilities to the patients would be tolerated. The minister gave a task to the newly posted MS for improving performance and administrative reforms in the government hospital. 

ICAP result: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) has announced the results of Assessment of Fundamental Competencies (AFC) Examination and Writing Skills Test (PCSC-I) summer 2017. 

As many as 941candidates were declared successful in AFC, 582 candidates were awarded permanent credits in the subjects of AFC and 327 candidates were declared successful in Writing Skills Test (PCSC-I) that were held in June 2017.
