Nawaz has foreign support: Qadri
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that international powers, which had brought Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to power with a certain agenda, would not let anybody harm him.
Talking to overseas organisational heads in London, he said accusations of an international conspiracy against Nawaz Sharif and a hue and cry against the joint investigation team (JIT) were en eyewash and scripted. “Nawaz Sharif was brought to power by certain neighbouring and other countries with heavy investment,” he claimed. He said the Model Town killings were sponsored by the state and the justice system was protecting the killers.
Meanwhile, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said an SP accused of the Model Town killings was appointed on a key position after bail. “The accused are in power and they are using their influence to scuttle justice,” he charged.
