Indian firing across LoC
ISLAMABAD:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned on Thursday the acting Deputy High Commissioner of India S Raguram over a recent cross border violation by Indian forces. On June 28 a man was killed and three others, including a woman, injured in the Nakyal Sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir after Indian border forces opened indiscriminate firing across the Line of Control (LoC). The deceased was identified as 22 year old Abdul Wahab. Army officials said the Pakistani troops gave a befitting response to the Indian shelling. The charge sheet to the Indian diplomat, who serves as the first secretary in the high commission’s political wing was presented by the ministry’s South Asia desk head. In the charge sheet, the Indian government was strongly urged to halt the continuous cross border firing and adhere to the 2003 ceasefire agreement across the LoC between the two countries.
