NDMA reviews precautionary measures for monsoon
Islamabad: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Thursday reviewed precautionary measures for Monsoon season to stay safe from untoward situation.
Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieut General Umer Mehmood Hayat, has convened the emergency meeting on the Direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. While addressing the briefing on Monsoon weather, Umer Mehmood Hayat said, "We have revived the precautionary measure plan according to the new Monsoon weather condition".
He told that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had directed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and all provincial governments to take immediate precautionary measures in view of the ongoing pre-monsoon spell. He said adequate emergency preparedness measures would be ensured throughout the country so as to contain any potential damage to the minimum. Situation created due to monsoon rains has been checked by the authority, all dams and rivers have been under observation to ensure the safety of local residents.
