LAHORE :Punjab government spokesman Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has said that the Punjab government celebrated Eidul Fitr with simplicity in view of Ahmedpur East tragedy.
According to a handout issued on Wednesday, all official ceremonies were cancelled on Eid day and the CM spent Eid day as a mark of solidarity with the bereaved families of the martyrs of Ahmedpur East tragedy. He said the prime minister rushed to Ahmedpur East by cancelling his scheduled medical checkup at London.
“After his arrival at Bahawalpur, the prime minster along with chief minster Punjab rushed to Ahmedpur East and spent Eid day with the members of the bereaved families” said the spokesman.
The prime minister and the chief minister condoled with the members of the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty Allah that the departed souls may rest in eternal peace and the Almighty Allah may give fortitude to bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
