Mohsin wants corrupt players ousted forever

KARACHI: Former Pakistan Test cricketer Mohsin Khan has said an example should be set for future generations by banning all those players who have embarrassed the nation in the past.
“I don’t have any personal problems with Mohammad Amir and when I say that there should be no space for corrupt cricketers in our national team I mean it should be and should have been a general practice for everyone,” Mohsin was quoted as saying in an interview.
“South Africa unwillingly banned Hansie Cronje, the backbone of their team then, and set an example of zero tolerance for corrupt practices. India also set an example for generations to come when they banned Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja and Parabhakar for life,” he said.
“Had we done that 13 years back we would not have lost these three very talented players because they wouldn’t have come near corrupt practices having a strong example already set in the past,” said Mohsin, who has also served as chief selector and as coach.
ICC on Thursday allowed pacer Mohammad Amir to play domestic cricket. Amir’s five-year ban for spot-fixing ends on September 2.
