Education woes
Sindh’s education sector is in the worst state. The concerned authorities are not paying attention to this sector. Students face a lot of problems especially during their board examinations. The Karachi board dispatches admit cards only a few days before the exams. Many students don’t receive their cards on time, leading to state of confusion and chaos. Parents and students then protest in front of the board office, but to no avail. A proper system has to be set up to ensure that all schools receive admit cards at least a month before the final examinations.
Another important issue that must be dealt with immediately is to control widespread incidents of cheating during examinations. What is even more shameful is the fact that teachers and invigilators also help students. This culture of cheating is common, but the education department has done nothing to date to resolve the issue. The Sindh government must look into this serious matter so that the province’s education sector can be improved.
